航海者系列為設計師一生創作經典作之一，早期大航海時代，除了羅盤，最簡單直接的測方向，就是觀星，或用太陽方位計算所謂的羅經差，進而找到預期中的方向。當然，有時候測的方向也可能會有誤差，但都會經由像娜美一樣的航海士根據當時的天氣狀況或地形及時修正，對航海者來說，方向絕對是啟航前的前奏，這也是為什麼方向是第一話的原因。

方向不是只有東、西、南、北，亦有北北東、西南西等，360度的方向隨你行。

人生亦是如此，每每走到抉擇之時，會猶豫會徬徨，即使再怎麼預先做好計畫和準備，計畫永遠感不上變化，最好的方式，就是當下依照自己的心意調整，心之所向亦當下最好的選擇。

別怕，即使結果不如當初想像，亦是最好的安排。

獵戶座有星座之王的美稱，在冬季是天空中最亮眼的星座，相傳形如獵人俄里翁站在獵戶座的河岸，身旁有他忠誠的獵犬大犬座，與他一起追逐著金牛座和天兔座。獵戶座的腰戴，有著三顆標誌性的星星，連成一條線，這也是觀星者或航海者最重要的參考之一，而這三顆星，也有祝福配戴者福、祿、壽(象徵吉祥幸福、健康長壽和富裕)的含意，是指超脫於年齡、性別的一款戒。
